We are looking for individuals who want to work with us during the summer vacation period in 2026, but there is also an opportunity to start earlier in the spring.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The probation control and preparedness organization is part of the probation service with a focus on control, security, and surveillance, which also includes client contact. As a probation officer, you will follow up on enforcement with electronic monitoring through home visits and workplace visits, technical handling and preparedness for enforcement with electronic monitoring, community service checks, as well as ensuring secure access to the probation office and other security-related tasks.

You will work in a team with probation officers and also have close collaboration with probation inspectors, decision support, program leaders, and administrators, so it is important that you thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment. Your tasks will be performed both in the probation facilities and out in the field. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service constantly faces new challenges and changes, which requires the authority to be dynamic and adaptable to meet the new demands and needs in society.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important, and to succeed in the role of probation officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, take personal responsibility, and strive to find solutions to emerging problems.

Requirements:

• Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have:

• Approved probation officer training
• Relevant work experience in areas such as corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social services.
• Experience in security checks/access control
• Relevant language skills
