About the Role

Do you want to use your expertise in data science to contribute to a fossil-free future? As a Senior Data Scientist at Vattenfall Eldistribution, you will have the opportunity to transform complex data into strategic insights that make a real difference.

Vattenfall Eldistribution is in the midst of the energy transition and plays a key role in the electrification taking place in society. The network capacity needs to double within ten years, which means more customer interactions. The Customer Information and Insights group works to understand our customer segments, their drivers, and growth rates. We are 16 colleagues and are now looking for a senior data scientist for our office in Solna.

About the Role

We are now looking for a senior data scientist who can elevate our analyses to the next level by working both strategically and developing value-creating AI solutions. Our analyses are in high demand, and the rapid pace of change in the energy sector requires new types of insights. Therefore, we are investing in AI and machine learning to increase the accuracy of trend analysis, forecasts, and time series analysis.

The analyses encompass multiple data sources, both internal and external, that need to be connected for more comprehensive analyses. We have begun automation and have gathered data in a shared data warehouse (Azure storage), where you will be a key person in ensuring the right conditions together with IT.

As AI Lead, you will lead and coach the team in exploring AI opportunities and identifying relevant applications. You may also be involved in cross-functional projects to create synergies and share best practices within the company. You need to understand both business and technology and be able to translate ideas into solutions that create real value.

Communication is a central part of the role. You will present analyses to different parts of the organization and tailor the message to the target audience.

Requirements

Qualifications

You have several years of experience as a Data Scientist and are accustomed to developing and implementing AI solutions from idea to production. You have a relevant university or college degree.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in programming in Python and PySpark or similar languages.
• Ability to build efficient and clear code to realize AI initiatives from MVP to value capture.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, including analysis of large datasets, predictive modeling, and time series forecasting.
• Practical experience in developing GenAI solutions to generate actionable insights from unstructured data, e.g., in trend and environmental analysis.
• Good skills in conveying messages / compiling presentations.
• Ability to express yourself professionally in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.

Desirable:

• Experience from the energy sector.
• Knowledge of data quality and improvement initiatives.
• Experience in visualization in Power BI.
