Job Responsibilities

Are you looking for a meaningful, developing, and varied job? Do you want to make a difference in everyday life as a personal assistant? We are looking for someone with experience working with neuropsychiatric disabilities, preferably in connection with cerebral palsy, who wants to contribute with their expertise.

As a personal assistant, you will provide support in daily life to a user with extensive needs. The work is varied and is based on close collaboration with colleagues, relatives, and employers. You play an important role in creating structure, security, and a functioning everyday life based on the user's needs and current condition. The work takes place both at home and, in the future, in daily activities. The user enjoys going on excursions and also traveling to other cities and staying in hotels. Other interests of the user include taking the train, listening to music, writing stories daily, and shopping, among other things.

Your tasks include support with personal care, such as toilet visits, showering, and dressing/undressing. You will also handle transfers using various aids such as turners and power wheelchairs, which requires technical familiarity. The tasks also include tube feeding via a feeding pump and AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication). The work is based on a low-arousal approach, and you need to be able to initiate activities and help create routines that provide a meaningful and stimulating environment.

You will be part of an engaged team consisting of personal assistants, support pedagogues/on-call management, and unit managers. The role also includes documentation in the operational system Treserva, as well as participation in developing routines and working methods.

Working hours are varied. A probationary period of up to six months may apply.

Qualifications

Since communication and documentation are important parts of the job, good knowledge of Swedish is required, equivalent to a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1.

We are looking for someone with prior experience working with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

It is advantageous if you have worked with extensive care interventions, such as support with intimate hygiene, and have experience with tube feeding. Furthermore, we view positively if you have experience working with individuals with significant care needs and feel comfortable using various transfer aids.

If you have experience with documentation in Treserva or similar systems, it is advantageous, as well as if you have training in care and nursing or another equivalent education. Experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities in combination with cerebral palsy and/or challenging behavior is seen as a significant plus.

Finally, it is advantageous if you have worked with AAC, preferably with a focus on Bliss, and have knowledge of low-arousal approaches.

As a person, you are responsible, flexible, and have a strong focus on the user. You collaborate well with others, contribute to a good working environment, and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions. You are attentive, show care and respect in your interactions with others, and have a good overall perspective in your work. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Other

Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.

In this recruitment, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of sending a personal letter.
