Your workplace

Hjälpmedelsservice is a specialist unit that works with assistive devices for people with disabilities, primarily in the areas of mobility, cognition, and communication. The unit is part of the outpatient care area. At Hjälpmedelsservice, we are about 30 employees who enjoy working together and love our jobs. We work with everything from purchasing, inventory management to training, service, advice, and support regarding assistive devices, as well as prescriptions for electric wheelchairs.

Your tasks

Now there is an opportunity to be involved in the prescription of electric wheelchairs. We have an opening in our team for electric wheelchairs and need to strengthen our operations with a new prescriber. Therefore, we are looking for an assistive device consultant focused on prescribing electric wheelchairs for adult users in Värmland. You will work alongside four other assistive device consultants who operate in the same area.

The prescription process includes assessing needs, testing, adapting, informing, instructing, training, following up, and evaluating the function and benefits of assistive devices. When making adaptations, you will work closely with assistive technology technicians.

In collaboration with other assistive device consultants, you will be responsible for development work, prescription criteria, routines, and product range work. Within the unit, we also work with seating receptions and custom-molded seats, as well as procurement work, which may also be included in your position.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist. We expect you to have a few years of professional experience and an interest in the field of assistive devices. Knowledge in the area of seating problems is an advantage. You should have a technical interest as there is a lot of technical development in the field of assistive devices. It is important to have a good ability to convey information about assistive devices to both users and staff groups. Personal suitability is highly valued.

As a person, you are service-oriented, meticulous, and have a good ability to independently plan and perform tasks under your own responsibility. You enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively with others. You are communicative and have a good initiative and teamwork ability. You have good computer skills.

A driver's license (B) is required, as travel may occur in the job.
