We are looking for a new colleague to our expanding pain unit in Region Jönköping County. We offer opportunities for training and flexibility in the work role.

The role of specialist physician at the pain unit

We are looking for you who are a physician with an interest in pain, pain specialist or anesthesiologist. This is a permanent position, full-time or part-time, with start date by agreement. The pain units at each location provide advanced pharmacological and invasive pain therapy, including SCS spinal cord stimulation, RF treatments, and intrathecal pain relief. We offer a well-developed qualitative outpatient assessment and treatment of patients with acute and chronic pain, both benign and malignant. We support primary care and inpatient care regarding patients with more complicated pain conditions, often of neuropathic origin or other more localized pain. The pain clinic generally does not handle nociplastic pain such as fibromyalgia.

Your future workplace

Since January 2020, there has been a joint pain clinic in the Jönköping region, with units at the three hospitals in Jönköping, Eksjö, and Värnamo. The units have slightly different medical focuses but work together within the clinic. The pain clinic is organizationally under the Operations and Intensive Care Clinic at Högland Hospital Eksjö with a common operations manager. The area manager at the Pain Clinic has personnel responsibility for doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and administrators at each pain unit as well as delegated operational responsibility. There are approximately 20 employees at the clinic.
