JOB DESCRIPTION
As an automation engineer at Norsborg Water Treatment Plant, you will play an important and influential role in one of the largest and most critical water facilities in the Nordics. Here, you will be both a technical support to the operation and an active part of the daily operations. The role is varied, where you alternate between analysis and development at the computer and practical troubleshooting work out in the facility where the systems meet reality.
You will work closely with engineers, electricians, and mechanics in a skilled maintenance team that ensures safe water deliveries. Your tasks include preventing, troubleshooting, and optimizing our automation and control systems, as well as managing, building, and further developing our automation environments, in an operation that is currently in an exciting phase of system expansion and future technology shifts. With us, you will become a central technical partner for the operation where your expertise makes a direct difference.
The position is a permanent employment where we apply a six-month probationary period, with placement at Norsborg Water Treatment Plant. After thorough onboarding, being on-call is also part of the job.
Your main tasks include:
- Troubleshooting, improving, and optimizing automation and control systems
- Programming and developing operational monitoring images in SCADA systems
- Modifying and developing functions in existing control systems and analyzing and improving communication via field buses (e.g., Profibus, Profinet, Modbus)
- Performing advanced logical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical measurements, as well as evaluating results
- Developing technical solutions, documentation, and decision support for implementation
- Carrying out commissioning, checkout, and, if necessary, repairs or modifications of equipment
- Planning, executing, and reporting tasks in the maintenance system, both independently and in collaboration with the team
QUALIFICATIONS
Your personal qualities are important to us. As an automation engineer and a member of our skilled team, you are a vital cog in the wheel, where your contribution is valuable for the progress of the operation. Your strength lies in your good analytical and problem-solving skills when it comes to identifying faults and deviations, and we appreciate that you are driven to independently take responsibility and initiative to implement the right solutions.
You are also strong in your communication and enjoy collaborating with various stakeholders, including your colleagues, managers, and other units, as well as external contractors.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- Relevant engineering education in automation, electrical engineering, control, and regulation technology, or equivalent work experience deemed comparable by the employer
- At least two years of experience in a similar role within the process industry
- Experience with automation systems and control equipment in operational environments
- Experience with programming in PLC/SCADA
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Driving license B
In your position, you will be working with classified information. Security clearance and background checks will therefore be conducted in connection with employment.
