Company Description

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of about 650 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as the development and provision of training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety, and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

Are you willing to take the step towards fossil freedom? Then we should talk.

We are looking for ambitious individuals to join our diverse, talented team. If you value collaboration and enjoy responsibility, we offer you a place to grow while working purpose-driven.

As an engineer with us, you will work on a variety of issues with varying complexity. We are in an exciting time where we are preparing for new nuclear power while also upgrading our existing facilities to operate for many years to come. Furthermore, we are also strengthening our ability to work with renewal and exchanges within hydropower. This means you will be involved in finding innovative solutions that enable the integration of modern technology with existing systems – solutions that meet today's high demands and ensure high availability of our facilities.

The work is carried out in project form, often together in construction teams with other specialists, where you are involved from the idea stage to the finished solution. You will work on everything from feasibility studies, analyses, and investigations to design and implementation, giving you a broad and developing role.

Responsibilities

As a Tech Lead in electrical engineering or I&C/automation, you will lead and drive the work within your technical area and possibly adjacent areas in projects, and you may also act as a client representative for external services and deliveries. The profile for a tech lead is similar to that of a design manager, facility construction manager, analysis manager, or technical project manager. We are now looking for experienced individuals, preferably with a focus on electrical engineering and automation. You will have a leading role in tasks such as identifying requirements, developing and evaluating design solutions, managing safety assessments, and following up on suppliers' work and deliveries. You may also participate in internal business development.

With us, you will have the opportunity to work with the energy technology of the future in projects that make a real difference. You collaborate with competent colleagues across several disciplines and build a strong network. Additionally, we offer great opportunities for professional and personal development through training, mentorship, and career paths within Vattenfall.

We know that our employees are the key to our success. For us, your development is important, and we will always encourage you to use your knowledge and provide you with opportunities to grow through new challenges, training, and knowledge transfer. With us, you will have the trust to act with great freedom and responsibility, which, together with good working conditions and mutual trust, provides high flexibility and balance between work and private life.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree as a university engineer, civil engineer, or similar in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.
  • Experience in electrical engineering or I&C
  • Experience in leadership positions
  • Experience in the process or power industry is an advantage
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English.
  • Driving license B.

We are looking for a leadership profile that is analytical, quality-conscious, and structured. You have a good overall view and find it easy to work in teams. Furthermore, you are responsible and willing to go beyond your formal areas of responsibility when necessary, have a positive attitude, and want to contribute to developing the business according to set goals.

Additional Information

In addition to being part of shaping the smart energy society of the future, we offer you a developing and varied job with many points of contact.
