At Saab, we constantly look ahead

We challenge the boundaries of what is technically possible. We collaborate with colleagues around the world who share our vision - to make the world a safer place.

Your future challenge

As a systems engineer at Saab Dynamics and Missile Systems, you will work on the development of advanced defense products, with a particular focus on missile systems. Your role involves ensuring that our products meet the requirements and expectations that our customers place on their capabilities. You will do this by leading the technical work throughout the product lifecycle, from initial studies to development and ongoing maintenance. The work includes requirements analysis, design, and verification of the final product.

We expect you to

as a systems engineer to have a broad understanding of the entirety of our products, but also enough depth of knowledge to explain and communicate how the systems are intended to function, in collaboration with those responsible for subsystems and components. In this role, the focus will be on EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) for one of our new systems, where the holistic perspective is crucial. You will work with requirements specification, test planning, analysis, summarizing results, and reporting.

You will navigate many technical areas

and your contact points within the company will be broad. To support your work, there are well-structured processes in our business system as well as method descriptions in our internal databases. You will often collaborate in project form with engineers from different parts of the development unit within Saab Dynamics, other parts of Saab, and international partners. Our projects vary in size, requiring flexibility as you may work on several projects simultaneously.

Your profile

You are a Master’s degree engineer or equivalent with several years of experience, preferably from systems work in areas such as mechanics, electronics, software, or AI/ML. If you have knowledge and experience in EMC, as well as a deeper understanding of electromagnetic compatibility, it is an advantage.

You have experience in designing and structuring complex systems to create a robust system architecture. You are also capable of creating models and simulating systems to analyze performance and identify potential problems.

You have worked with ISO 15288, an international standard for Systems Engineering Lifecycle Process, and have experience in requirements management at various levels, allowing you to systematize systems and/or systems of systems. Knowledge of model-based methodology is advantageous.

It is important that you have a holistic perspective, and we believe you have been around long enough to have a good sense of when it's time to take the next step in development. You should have good collaboration skills and be able to drive your work forward independently. You communicate well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

This position requires you to be approved in a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act.

What you will be a part of

At System Engineering within Saab Dynamics Missile Systems, you will have the opportunity to work in a part of Saab that is a bit like a small company within the large, which means a broad technology and many contact points that may not be so common. It also gives you the opportunity to influence both the technology and the methods we work with.

Discover endless possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
