We are now looking for a component engineer for our Product Development department. With us, you will have the opportunity to shape the training systems of the future and test the limits of what modern technology can achieve.

Your Role

As a component engineer at Saab Training & Simulation, you contribute to ensuring that the final product meets all requirements by suggesting suitable components with a focus on availability, reliability, and sustainability. Your role also includes maintaining and managing existing components in our database, as well as standardizing and collaborating with other stakeholders in the company to develop strategies for future components. During development projects, you are an essential cog as a component engineer. You conduct BOM analyses using our tools, where you carefully review the components involved and suggest improvements based on the analysis results. In your work, you use tools such as Siemens EDM, IFS, and IHS BOM.

Along with our component technology team, you work closely with designers in mechanics, electronics, and optics.

Your Profile

We are looking for an engaged and technically interested engineer who is eager to develop and contribute to our team. You are meticulous, structured, and driven by solving technical challenges. Communication and collaboration are natural parts of your working style, and you enjoy building good relationships both internally and externally. To succeed in this role, you need to have the following qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent YH degree in electronics
  • At least three years of relevant work experience as a component engineer, designer, or similar technical role
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Additionally, we would be especially pleased if you have knowledge/experience working with passive and semiconductor components in electronics.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

Please note that we work with ongoing selection, and the position may be filled before the application deadline has expired.
