Business Description

Tallbackaskolan is a F-6 school with approximately 350 students, as well as an after-school department and two preparatory classes, located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan, we work with parts of the Gällivare model, which means that in each class in grades 1-2, there is a teaching responsible teacher and a class mentor.
In grades 3-6, a teaching responsible teacher works with the support of a class mentor who may be assigned to one or more classes. The central student health services are located at the school, and students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, 2 special educators, school psychologist, and the principals.
The after-school program complements the school by developing students' abilities through various forms of expression based on their interests.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special educator. Do you want to help develop all our students' knowledge through close collaboration with the school's other staff? Then you are the person we are looking for. We are looking for someone who is a trained special educator. You should have knowledge of learning difficulties in students, be able to adapt your approach, and have knowledge of mapping based on the student's age and developmental level. It is required that you have in-depth knowledge of reading and writing difficulties and neuropsychiatric disabilities. You also need to have knowledge of students in need of special support and experience working with children and youth in need of special support.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified teacher with a teaching license and further education in special education. Experience in special educational work is an asset. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Engagement, solution focus, innovative thinking, interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

A police record extract is required before employment.
