Business Description

Myranskolan has about 150 students from preschool class to grade 6, as well as an after-school care department. The school is located in Koskullskulle. At Myranskolan, there is a teaching responsible teacher and a class mentor who primarily works with the social aspects of the curriculum in each class in grades 1–6. The after-school care is a complement to the school where students' abilities are developed through various forms of expression based on their interests. The school also has special education teachers, a school counselor, and a school nurse who collaborate in teams for the benefit of the students.

Job Responsibilities

As a class mentor, you will follow a class in grades 1–6 throughout the day and be responsible, together with the teacher, for creating safety, well-being, and a conducive learning environment. You are an active resource in the classroom and after-school care, and you are also responsible for supervising breaks and organizing break activities. You will have contact with guardians regarding social issues and therefore also share responsibility with the teacher for documentation regarding norms and values. The role also includes substituting for staff absences at the school and after-school care. Your work includes responsibilities in after-school care, before and after school.

Qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma, education in child and/or leisure activities, activity leader in after-school care, or other education deemed equivalent/relevant by the employer. Experience in creating safety, understanding the school's core values, values, and norms. Experience from school, after-school care, or other activities where you have led children's groups is an advantage. You should have good social skills, be self-driven, proactive, responsible, and have a good attitude towards colleagues, students, and guardians. We expect you to have good communication skills and proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

A police record extract is required.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment. A probationary period may be applied.
