Hakkasskolan in the village of Hakkas is a spacious primary school in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It includes preschool class, after-school care, and grades 1-9. The school has about 70 students from Hakkas and surrounding villages, with some new arrivals. The school has easy access to a swimming pool and large natural areas that are used in all student activities. Hakkasskolan is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!" We are constantly developing our teaching and learning environments to give students the best possible conditions for learning. Hakkasskolan has been granted an ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means ongoing collaborative projects with other schools across Europe, with opportunities for travel within the job for all participating educators. The goals of the ERASMUS+ work are to collaborate with other schools in Europe that have similar challenges to ours, to strengthen students' motivation to learn multiple languages, further develop distance education, and provide students and teachers with the opportunity to view their own hometown from new perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in after-school care at Hakkas school, you will collaborate on planning and activities with others at the school. Your work includes planning and teaching in the after-school care departments, with a primary focus on the departments for preschool class up to grade 6. You will collaborate with class mentors and student assistants in the daily work at the after-school care. The work also includes collaborating with other school staff based on your assignment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a license to work in after-school care and has a present and attentive approach to students' diverse needs, is a clear leader, and has good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and have an easy time taking your own initiatives. We develop our work through pedagogical conversations and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Upon employment, we require a criminal record check.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment. A probationary period may apply.
