Make a difference. Every day.
- Together we can do something for every patient that creates security in the midst of the difficult.
Is an empathetic approach and focus on the patient obvious to you? Are you looking for a workplace where you can develop both in your profession and as a person? Then do not hesitate to apply to Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) in Lund.
The main goal of palliative care is to relieve and support when a cure for the disease is no longer possible. The task of palliative care is to alleviate physical pain and provide psychological, social, and existential support to the patient and their relatives. The purpose of care is to help the patient achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life while neither hastening nor postponing death.
Palliative care and ASIH in Lund is an organization with a mission to provide palliative specialist care and consists of two workplaces in close collaboration. We have approximately 60 care places in the home (ASIH) in eight municipalities in central Skåne and 14–16 care places in the Palliative Care Department in Lund.
At ASIH, there are doctors, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, dietitians, and medical secretaries. Our operations are characterized by continuous care development and education where everyone is involved and responsible for the organization's goals, development, and results. The team has a large group of nurses (35 positions) where half of the nurses are specialists in various fields.
The majority of our patients are cared for at home, via ASIH Lund, which performs specialist care interventions through home visits around the clock. Patients come to the palliative care department for symptom relief optimization or for care at the end of life. We also have a palliative consulting team that visits referred patients in hospitals and home environments and provides support to other caregivers. We often collaborate with municipal care and support to offer comprehensive care together with them.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We now have the opportunity to welcome a nurse to ASIH in Lund!
Working at ASIH in Lund means working person-centered, providing symptom-relieving treatment, and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our admitted patients. We care for patients of all ages who are in the end stages of life where all forms of diagnoses may occur. You meet the patient in their home environment and work based on the conditions it provides and with the patient's goals in focus. As an employee, you will work in a creative organization together with competent colleagues, where you are an important part of the team. Short decision-making paths give you great opportunities to influence your work.
In addition to specialized palliative care, ASIH is tasked with performing point interventions at home for other medically responsible doctors in hospitals or primary care. These patients are not admitted to ASIH and may have varying diagnoses and ages. Without these point interventions in the home environment, the planned treatment would require hospitalization; it is the very task that makes it advanced home healthcare. Common point interventions include nurses administering blood transfusions and intravenous antibiotics.
