The Research Group

The research group focuses on aging and neurodegenerative diseases. We strive to gain a better understanding of underlying disease mechanisms and assist in the development of better biomarkers for disease progression and clinical drug trials. The research group is part of the larger ‘Clinical Memory Research’ and ‘the BioFINDER study’ which has world-class expertise in neurodegenerative diseases.

Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant within the research group, you will work on various tasks related to brain imaging analysis. These include assessing the quality of neuroimaging data and writing scientific articles.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for the position:

• Active student in the medical program or psychology program at Lund University.
• Strong interest in cognitive neuroscience, human memory, Alzheimer's disease, and methods (data organization, data analysis, and statistics).
• Good skills in oral and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of human amygdala anatomy is an advantage.
• Experience in writing scientific articles.

Additional qualifications that are advantageous for the position include:

• Personal qualities such as patience, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good teamwork skills.

Other Information

The position is temporary at 25% for 6 months with a desired start date of January 15, 2026, or by agreement. The position should not negatively impact the assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The position is covered by the work time agreement for teachers.
