The Acute Orthopedic Department is part of the Surgical Operations Area (VO) and is one of the largest areas at Kristianstad Central Hospital. We have outpatient services with surgical, vascular, upper/lower gastro, and breast/plastic patients, as well as an oncology treatment unit. The other departments within our area are the Acute Surgical Department (KAVA), Surgical Department, Urology and Vascular Department, Gynecology Surgery, and Ear-Nose-Throat. We have active collaboration between the departments with good development opportunities within the specialties.

The orthopedic operations at Kristianstad Central Hospital (CSK) include emergency surgeries, outpatient services, and an acute care unit. The elective orthopedic operations are conducted at the hospital in Hässleholm. Our orthopedic area is a university hospital unit. The ambition level is high, and we strive towards the common goal of delivering high quality.

The Acute Orthopedic Department is at the forefront of care development and patient consideration. The work in our department is varied, where no day is like the other. As a nurse, you will be challenged and developed by diverse tasks, including both pre- and post-operative care as well as rehabilitation.

In a cross-professional team, you will work together with the patient and other professions to create the best conditions for person-centered care. We focus on the patient, and to make this possible, we strive to reduce the number of patients per nurse. In addition, competence development and training are prioritized.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our unit is growing, and we are expanding the number of care places. Therefore, we are now looking for 3 new colleagues who want to help develop our operations!

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and wants to contribute to a good work environment, where we all feel joy and community. We welcome both those who are newer to the role and those who have worked for a while and gathered valuable experience in the profession. We want to create a working method that benefits both patients and staff. Therefore, we focus on the medical and care needs of the patient, which means that team division is based on patient needs and staff experience.

You will be responsible for the nursing tasks occurring in an operating acute care unit. Many patients cared for by us also have internal medical conditions, which means you will develop a broad competence. In addition to direct patient work, all staff are involved in developing and improving the care of our patients.

Weekend work is included, two out of five weekends. A wish schedule is applied in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to develop and be challenged in their professional role. You enjoy working in a team and want to contribute to a good work environment, where we all feel joy and community. Furthermore, you have a strong commitment to both patient-centered work and the development of the organization. Having a good approach towards patients, relatives, and colleagues is a given for you.

It is important that you are familiar with and want to work according to Region Skåne's values; welcoming, driving, caring, and respect. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Regarding formal requirements, you must be a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required.
