Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you will, together with nursing colleagues and caregivers, be responsible for a care team in the department, participate in care planning together with patients and the team, and be responsible for care and medical assessments.

In your role as a nurse, you will conduct caring conversations, make assessments, health checks, and manage medications. Furthermore, you will also document according to applicable guidelines and legislation and collaborate with municipalities and relevant discharge accommodations.

About the Workplace

Within the Forensic Psychiatric Inpatient Care, you are welcomed to a highly specialized care organization where you as a nurse have an important role. We work in teams with the patient in focus. With us, nurses, caregivers, psychologists, therapists, and doctors work together. Approximately 160 employees work within the organization. The four inpatient wards have 55 care places.

Shortly, another department will open where patients in security class 3 will be cared for. Security class 3 is the lowest security class and patients are assessed to have a low risk of violence and/or deviation. The care environment is more open, which means fewer restrictions, but still under supervision and with clear rules. Patients have the opportunity for their own mobile phones and computers, and the focus is on rehabilitation and preparation for discharge to society.

After inpatient care, treatment often transitions to forensic psychiatric outpatient care with special conditions, and an outpatient team is available at the clinic. Our patient group consists of residents of Västmanland and out-of-county patients.

The forensic psychiatric care is located in Sala.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you are a specialist nurse in psychiatric care. We also see it as a benefit if you have experience working in psychiatric care or forensic psychiatric care. Our work is governed by documents in Swedish, so you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you have experience working in the Cosmic journal system, it is an advantage.

We see that you are a secure, stable person with good self-awareness. You collaborate well with others and have a good ability to structure and drive your work forward independently. The role of a nurse involves leadership and requires a good ability to lead and motivate other care staff together with your nursing colleagues. You are a meticulous person who is well aware of goals and quality standards. To succeed in the role, you need to easily adapt to changing circumstances.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment. Full-time. We work based on an 8-week schedule where you work 3 out of 8 weekends, but there is flexibility. Place of employment: Sala. Start date by agreement.
