We are a surgical department with twelve care places that conducts surgical activities with three interdisciplinary teams: Upper Gastrointestinal (GI), Endocrine Sarcoma (ES), and Emergency Surgery. Our goals for the future are to become a leading unit for upper GI surgery. To achieve these goals, we have a vision to always put the patient in focus and provide staff with the opportunity to offer care in the right place with the right competence. Surgical Department 14 provides highly specialized healthcare with the entire southern Sweden as its catchment area. We have standardized care processes according to the Enhanced Recovery Pathway (ERP) model for the best possible recovery. We are part of a close collaboration between departments within the surgical activities in Lund.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse, you will care for patients in need of highly specialized care and less advanced surgical procedures. In your daily work, you will manage central lines, monitoring systems, drains, and other medical equipment.
For us, it is important to provide a secure start in your new professional role or at your new workplace. Therefore, we have a well-developed introduction program that offers both theoretical and practical introduction with the help of our nursing leaders. We work evidence-based with the ambition to have person-centered care in focus. All employees have the opportunity to influence and develop the operations through development groups and areas of responsibility.
Competence development is one of the most important factors for maintaining and increasing the quality of care as well as providing stimulation for you as a nurse in your professional life. After a few years in the department, we encourage employees to pursue specialist training in surgical care or other valuable training for the operations. The department also holds ongoing development days, internal training, and daily competence development within the team. The schedule allows for personal development such as education, shadowing, etc. We also have nursing leaders in the department, one nursing assistant, and one nurse, who actively work with development and education. A Clinical Foundation Year is offered to all nurses with less than two years of experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement. We would like you to have a few years of experience in the profession, preferably within surgical care.
As a person, you are secure in your professional role and have a great commitment and ability to take responsibility. You find it easy to work independently while being part of the team.
