About the Job

As a trainee in software development for Microsoft Application Automation, you will be part of one of our agile development teams from day one. In close collaboration with the business, the teams deliver finished solutions that simplify life for millions of individuals and businesses. Our systems contribute to a well-functioning society by creating conditions for taxation, population registration, democratic elections, crime prevention, and international cooperation.

The Swedish Tax Agency's IT trainee program is in its fifth year, and we are now planning for the next start where we want to hire up to 20 trainees in 3 different locations. During the program, you will gain knowledge about the Swedish Tax Agency's operations and build on your experience. You will have an individual development plan that is followed up and revised during the program period so that you can create the best setup based on your conditions and the needs of the business. You will have an experienced mentor as support and sounding board. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, and your everyday life consists of practical training, education, theme days, and workshops, alongside working in the team. The program's structure is carefully designed to give you the best start to your career. Of course, the program begins with a kick-off.

14 of the trainees focus on software development. The trainee who will work in Sundbyberg with our collaboration platform will primarily develop with: We work with modern version control and CI/CD processes via Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines) and GitHub. For automation and administration, we primarily use PowerShell for platforms such as SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, and Skype, as well as Microsoft Graph API and Azure CLI for managing cloud resources. Our environments include Windows Server, Azure, and VMware. Application development is done in C#/.NET, and we also use Power Apps and Power Automate to create solutions within low-code/no-code automation. Integration with internal systems often occurs via REST and SOAP-based APIs. As a trainee and software developer, you will use your problem-solving skills to create systems that simplify everyday life for many. In our large IT department with nearly 1500 colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop while contributing to societal benefits. You will belong to the Section for Digital Collaboration, the Swedish Tax Agency's technical service unit in the IT department, located in Sundbyberg. In our section, we are 19 colleagues, including 2 other developers.

About You

In this job, you should:

  • be a team player and ensure both the group's and your own performance

  • be curious, enjoy challenges, and have the ability to drive your own and the business's development forward
  • express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and communicate in an engaging manner.

You should also have:

  • a current or recently completed relevant education in IT (at least 180 credits) from a university or college with a degree from 2024 or later, but no later than August 2026
  • experience in software development from your studies
  • experience with C# and .NET from your studies
  • experience with Microsoft 365 from your studies
  • experience with SharePoint and Teams
  • experience with Azure DevOps from your studies

It is desirable that you have an understanding of low-code tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps. It is also desirable that you have an understanding of CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, automated testing, and version control.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
