About the Job

As a trainee in system development, you will be part of one of our agile development teams from day one. In close collaboration with the business, the teams deliver complete solutions that simplify life for millions of individuals and businesses. Our systems contribute to a well-functioning society by creating conditions for taxation, population registration, democratic elections, crime fighting, and international cooperation.

The Swedish Tax Agency's IT trainee program is in its fifth year, and we are now planning for the next start where we want to hire up to 20 trainees in 3 different locations. During the program, you will gain knowledge about the Swedish Tax Agency's operations and build on your experience. You will have an individual development plan that is followed up and revised during the program period so that you can create the best setup based on your conditions and the needs of the business. You will have an experienced mentor for support and guidance. The trainee program lasts for 12 months, and your everyday life consists of practical training, education, theme days, and workshops, alongside working in the team. The program's structure is carefully designed to give you the best start to your career. Of course, the program begins with a kick-off.

The IT Security Unit is now looking for an engaged and curious trainee who wants to develop in the field of cybersecurity architecture. As a trainee with us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced architects and specialists, participate in strategic and operational security issues, and contribute to strengthening the agency's digital resilience.

The trainee program lasts for one year and gives you gradually increasing responsibilities in areas such as security design, risk assessments, review of architectural principles and frameworks, as well as practical work to improve our overall security architecture. You will have the opportunity to work on modeling various security architectures and participate in the development of IT security services. You will also work on developing control mechanisms and monitoring tools and perform complex IT audits.

You will gain insight into both development projects and management, and be involved in creating solutions that support a robust, scalable, and secure IT environment.

As a trainee, you will use your problem-solving skills to create systems that facilitate everyday life for many. In our large IT department with nearly 1500 colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop while contributing to societal benefit. You will belong to the General IT Security section of the IT department, located in Gothenburg. In our section in Gothenburg, we are 4 colleagues and a total of 14 employees across Sweden.

About You

In this job, you should:

  • express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and communicate in an engaging manner.

You should also have:

  • a current or recently completed education in IT (at least 180 credits) from a university or college with graduation from 2024 or later, but no later than August 2026
  • relevant experience from cybersecurity-related courses during your studies

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
