The Police Region East includes Södermanland, Östergötland, and Jönköping County. The Södermanland Police Area is further divided into several local police areas, an investigation section, and an office.
The investigation groups and the Investigation Section are looking for investigators during the summer months of 2026, with placements in Eskilstuna, Strängnäs, and Nyköping.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work with investigations and act as support in our investigative activities. This may involve investigations concerning volume crimes, crimes in close relationships, youth cases, or other types of cases. It entails close collaboration with our investigators and preliminary investigation leaders, as well as other contacts within and outside the authority.
Your role includes, among other things:
- Assisting in all investigative measures such as witness and victim interviews, as well as interrogations of suspects in certain cases
- Registration of seizures, requests for account statements, journal notes, etc., according to the preliminary investigation leader's decisions
- Taking reports
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- Police education from the third term or longer
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Experience working in various computer systems
- Driver's license (B)
In addition to the above requirements, the following are meritorious:
- Other language skills (in addition to Swedish and English)
- Experience working in government operations
- Knowledge of RAR and Durtvå
Personal qualities:
You should have a service mindset and the ability to create good relationships with both the public and colleagues. You should be flexible, stress-resistant, enjoy challenges, and have good prioritization skills as well as the ability to handle peak workloads. Additionally, you should be responsible and have a strong sense of legal security. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

After the fixed-term employment ends, there may be opportunities for intermittent employment (hourly employment).
