ENT Clinic Mälarsjukhuset Eskilstuna
About Us
The Ear, Nose, and Throat clinic at Mälarsjukhuset is part of the ENT clinic Sörmland, which operates throughout the county. Clinics are also located at Nyköpings lasarett and Kullbergska sjukhuset in Katrineholm.
Our workgroup is small and multiprofessional, with both healthcare and administrative staff gathered in the same unit.
Within the ENT clinic, we have doctor and nurse appointments, outpatient surgical operations, day surgery, and a minor care department at Mälarsjukhuset. Surgery requiring inpatient care is conducted at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna and in acute cases during weekdays at Nyköpings lasarett. Furthermore, there is a hearing care clinic staffed by audiologists responsible for all hearing assessments and hearing rehabilitation/habilitation, as well as a speech therapy clinic where speech therapists work to assess and treat/rehabilitate various types of communication problems such as voice, speech, and language disorders as well as eating and swallowing difficulties.
We continuously work to increase patient safety and quality of work performed by improving our working methods, and we would like you to be part of shaping the future. Together, we build a clinic that can and enjoys being in change to embrace medical development and competence. We also need to expand and strengthen the use of digital solutions for care, information, and collaboration with residents/patients.
Your Responsibilities
The daily routine at the ENT clinic is varied, developing, and sometimes challenging. You will be able to vary your days with different responsibilities and tasks to meet the needs for visits and other healthcare contacts together with your colleagues.
The tasks as a nurse at the ENT clinic consist of both patient-facing, advisory, and administrative work such as case management in 1177. We receive urgent visits, planned visits, sleep apnea patients with and before PAP treatment, dizziness examinations, and flow measurements in the nose. All this means that you need to be able to perform: telephone advice, reception work, nurse visits, patient flow with PAP fittings and treatment adjustments, outpatient surgeries under local anesthesia where you are responsible for assisting and instrumenting, performing assessments before and after surgery, as well as dressing changes and suture removal.
You will have the opportunity to learn what you do not already know and carry with you in your experience bank. We can also offer training opportunities as a contact nurse and deepening knowledge in the care of ENT patients, both at 7.5 credits.
The clinic is responsible for SVF head and neck cancer, surgical planning for procedures within the head and neck area, the county's trac patients in both own, assisted, and inpatient care, as well as a growing group of residents with obstructive sleep apnea. After onboarding, which is individually tailored and county-wide, you will have the opportunity to work independently within one or more of these areas.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse who is self-aware in your professional role with a well-founded and curious interest in learning to develop within ear, nose, and throat care at a specialized clinic.
Experience from outpatient work within healthcare is meritorious, as well as further education such as ENT nursing, CPR instructor for adults and children, contact nurse, oncology care, district nurse, surgical nursing, surgical planning.
As a person, you are loyal to your colleagues and the organization by actively collaborating with both colleagues and patients for a well-functioning workplace that meets set goals. In everyday life, you are flexible, can balance yourself and handle setbacks, see ways forward and plan accordingly. You can recognize the need for this through a good ability to act for the whole.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
If you have questions or concerns, your future colleagues are happy to answer them if you stop by!
