Within walking distance from the center of Eskilstuna, Djurgårdsskolan accommodates 800 students from preschool class to grade nine. The school is beautifully located next to the Djurgården park area and Odlarskogen, where there are walking areas and exercise tracks. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school nurse, you are an important part of the student health work at the school to promote students' learning, development, and health. You play a significant role in the work done in our student health teams. Our large student health team consists of school nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, special educators, career counselors, and school management. Our student health work is well-developed with good structures.

You are one of two school nurses at the school. You will primarily work with grades F-6, while your colleague will work with the upper grades, although you will also assist each other. Our facilities are newly renovated, and you have a room adapted to a school nurse's needs. Both school nurses and counselors sit close to each other, enabling close collaboration.

As a school nurse, you conduct health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, and open clinics. You collaborate with educators and guardians. In addition, you are also a trusted adult at the school who is there for our students. Preventive and promotional work is also part of the school nurse's role and often takes place in collaboration with the school counselor.

As a newcomer, you will receive an introduction and onboarding from a school nurse colleague and have support from the Medical Student Health Service. You will have the opportunity for knowledge exchange and contact with other school nurses through the network group you are part of. You will also participate in joint professional development organized by the Medical Student Health Service, and there is an opportunity for group supervision together with school nurse colleagues from other schools.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a nurse with further education as a school nurse/school health care, district nurse, or health and medical care for children/youth. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children/youth, preferably in the role of a school nurse.

You have an understanding of our students' differences and the ability to meet them based on their situation and personality. You can independently take responsibility for your planning and your areas of responsibility. We also value that you have good collaboration skills with the various functions of the organization to offer students the best possible support.
