About Us

Gävle Ryttarsällskap is a non-profit association with proud traditions since 1952. We have over 400 members and conduct both riding school and competition activities at both amateur and elite levels. Our facility has 28 riding school horses and about 25 boarded member horses. We are an association with strong community, great commitment, and a clear vision - to be one of Sweden's leading riding schools where quality, safety, and sustainability permeate everything we do.

Our Values

  • Quality and safety permeate everything we do
  • Sustainable equestrian sport - environmentally, socially, and economically
  • Respect for people and horses
  • Engagement and education in focus
  • GRS - the obvious place for young people to spend their free time

About the Position

As a caretaker with us, you will be an important part of the operation and contribute to ensuring that the facility functions at its best - every day. You will work closely with horses, staff, and members in an environment where no day is the same.

Your main tasks:

  • Maintenance of pastures (fencing, brush clearing, etc.).
  • Harrowing and watering of riding arenas, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Transport within the facility (e.g., horse feed).
  • Maintenance and service of machines and tools.
  • Repairs of the facility, snow removal, and sanding in winter.
  • If needed - assist in the stable where horse care is included.
  • Supervisor for interns from educational institutions.

The position is directly subordinate to the riding school manager and the working hours are Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is used to working independently, is responsible, and has an eye for what needs to be done. You enjoy working both practically and outdoors, and you find it easy to collaborate when needed.

It is advantageous to have:

  • Experience working with animals is a plus.
  • Tractor license class II and experience driving a tractor.

We Offer

With us, you will work in an inspiring environment close to animals and nature. We offer a job with great variety, engaged colleagues, and the opportunity to be part of an association that cares about sustainable equestrian sport - environmentally, socially, and economically. We want you to thrive, develop, and grow with us on the way to becoming one of Sweden's best riding schools.

If you have questions about the position, please contact the riding school manager Leif Hall at tel:0705240084
