We are now looking for an experienced cost engineer

The cost estimation work is the foundation of our bids and crucial for the customer to choose us. Therefore, at Skanska, we invest significantly in modernizing and developing the cost estimation work. We have a well-established collaboration across the country, where we regularly meet for training and knowledge exchange.

The Stockholm South Housing Region has focused strongly on digitalization in recent years, particularly on developing the connections between models, schedules, and estimates. We are driving several development projects in this area.

Skanska also strives to be the leading green construction company. This means that our cost engineers must be at the forefront of climate calculations and climate declarations. As a cost engineer with us, you will calculate costs for projects at various stages, as many of our projects involve working with our customers early in the process. You will also have the opportunity to participate in various development projects within your area of expertise to ensure that we continuously improve together. Your main tasks in the role are to:

  • interpret drawings and models
  • extract quantities in various ways
  • calculate
  • follow up on cost estimation work
  • prepare documentation for final reviews
  • manage bid projects from start to finish, and thereafter support the project with follow-ups, reconciliations, budgets, and forecasts
  • assist with your expertise to provide second opinions on others' bidding work and participate in various forums both internally and externally to become even sharper in your expertise in the estimation area

Are you the one we are looking for?

The position suits you who are analytical, enjoy numbers, and are pedagogical. You have at least five years of experience in cost estimation or equivalent and have worked with the entire estimation process from start to finish. You master the craft well, are structured, and feel confident working in estimation programs. You are motivated to lead and develop others, as this is sometimes a supervisory position. It is therefore important that you feel comfortable presenting your estimates to managers, colleagues, customers, and other external stakeholders. If you are also a communicative and unpretentious person who maintains good structure, we believe this is the right workplace for you!

You have an academic education or have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways. We are looking for someone with production experience and experience from the construction industry. Furthermore, it is important that you master both Swedish and English in speech and writing.
