Welcome to Us

We are a municipal preschool area that includes eight preschools located close to each other and to nature just around the corner.

We have parks, playgrounds, forests, and the city within walking distance. Because the distances are short, collaboration between the preschools is easy. At our preschools, preschool teachers and childcare workers work together in teams. We have chefs at our preschools who prepare meals, and educational lunches are included. At Artemis preschools, we work with our joint project "Planet Caretakers." This project has a sustainability perspective with ecological integrity and biodiversity in focus.

Your Role

As a substitute at Artemis preschools, you contribute to ensuring that the daily operations run smoothly and that care and daily educational work are based on children's participation and choices. Together with colleagues at the preschool, you help create a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child and for the entire group of children. In daily contact with guardians, you are engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented.

Your Qualifications and Experience

High school education, preferably within the care program, child and youth studies, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of the national minority languages Finnish, Meänkieli, and Sámi.
• Experience working in a preschool.

As a person, you are committed, flexible, and self-driven. Your focus on children is clear, and you have a positive attitude towards your work. You collaborate with children, colleagues, and parents in a responsive and smooth manner, listening, communicating, and handling conflicts constructively. You act in accordance with decisions made, the curriculum, goals, policies, and guidelines. You are calm, stable, and professional with the judgment to focus on the right things. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, motivation, and commitment to the position.

To work in our preschools, you need to present an extract from the police criminal record for work with children.
