About Us

At SSIH, specialized home healthcare, we primarily work with palliative patients of all ages and various diagnoses. Our goal is to provide patients with a good quality of life in difficult situations and to enable them to stay at home even during severe illness. We work in a multiprofessional team, including nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians. Our patients reside in Strängnäs municipality and we operate from our premises at Healthcare Center Strängnäs.

Your Responsibilities

Working as a social worker in SSIH means that as part of the team, you provide psychosocial support to patients enrolled in SSIH and their relatives. The social worker's task is to complement medical care with psychosocial knowledge from a holistic perspective. This includes home visits and phone contact with patients and relatives for supportive conversations during grief and life changes. The focus of the conversations can be supportive, crisis-oriented, processing, or existential. The social worker also participates in family conversations, sometimes together with doctors and nurses in SSIH. The social worker's role may also involve guidance on social, economic, and legal issues. Group activities such as bereavement conversations also take place.

Your Competence

We are looking for a licensed healthcare social worker, preferably with experience in palliative care or home care. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Employment Type

Permanent position, 25%. Start date according to agreement.
