Healthcare Assistant to Stem Cell and Component Laboratory
Together we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Together with patients, we work for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – in a cohesive healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always in focus. We offer healthcare locally and regionally, but also highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength and contribute to knowledge exchange nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify everyday life at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.
Who are we?
Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KITM) is organized into 6 units in the Västra Götaland region.
The Stem Cell and Component Laboratory has about 20 employees and is responsible for the production of blood components from donor blood, preparation of hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation, and the recovery of tissues for transplantation. We also manufacture two of our own ATMP drugs and participate in various ATMP studies.
What do we offer?
With us, you will be the spider in the web and work in a small team with great commitment, job satisfaction, and specialist competence. The staff works closely together, but parts of the tasks are also performed independently.
Your tasks will include supporting the laboratory staff through sample handling and providing support to colleagues working in our cleanroom. You will be responsible for supplies, orders for these, lab desk, arrival registration, and contact with various suppliers. You will also have administrative tasks and be responsible for our archiving. In recent years, we have implemented work shifts, so you will also perform certain laboratory tasks and assist our staff during bone marrow harvesting in surgery. Your working hours will be scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday.
All our processes are accredited, including by Swedac, IVO, and FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy), and quality assurance is a significant and important part of our work. This places high demands on documentation, traceability, and qualified staff.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is a trained healthcare assistant, with experience in healthcare or laboratory work and/or research.
To thrive with us, we believe that you:
- Are meticulous and enjoy work governed by high quality standards
- Appreciate independent work but in close collaboration with colleagues
- Are accustomed to working with administrative tasks
- Are flexible as the operation is dynamic by nature
- Are attentive and communicative
It is important that you can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English as we have many national and international contacts.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Welcome to us and our vital work!
