IT Project Managers for the Swedish Armed Forces
The Swedish Armed Forces (FM) is now seeking several highly experienced and senior IT project managers for the new Project Management Section of the Cyber Unit to lead and develop FM's capacity for innovation and digitalization. We are looking for individuals who actively want to participate in our change and digitalization efforts with a focus on creating conditions for FM as part of the total defense and Sweden as part of NATO.
Project Management Section
FM is conducting extensive change work to digitalize and transform operations. As part of this effort, a new program department will be established within the Cyber Unit of the Defense Staff. The program department will be responsible for driving larger programs and projects aimed at creating conditions for and driving the digitalization of FM operations.
Initially, the program department will be responsible for a larger program, but in the long term, the intention is for the department to oversee several programs for the digitalization of FM operations. The department will consist of three sections, of which the Project Management Section is one.
The primary task of the Project Management Section is to drive digitalization projects for the organization. The focus is on leading projects that deliver benefits for all or large parts of the Armed Forces within the ICT area. The Project Management Section has the overall responsibility for ensuring that projects are carried out effectively and successfully so that benefits are delivered to the Armed Forces' operations.
Main Responsibilities
Together with colleagues and the head of the newly established Project Management Section, you will contribute to the Armed Forces' goals and strategy for digitalization by leading various digitalization projects within the framework of larger programs.
You will act as an advisor to the department and section management on strategic issues and establish and lead relevant forums.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Relevant academic degree, preferably in IT, e.g., computer or systems science, or other post-secondary education combined with experience that could be assessed as equivalent
- Several years of current and relevant experience as an IT project manager of large and complex projects in large organizations
- Current and relevant experience of change work in larger organizations with both business and IT perspectives
- Experience communicating complex issues to management, decision-makers, and employees with both business and IT competencies
- Experience in operations with high demands on information and IT security
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
Meritorious
- Certification as a project manager
- Experience of FM operations, public sector, and collaboration with other authorities
- Experience in operations covered by security protection legislation
- Good understanding of modern IT technology, information systems, and information technology

It is required that you can work in a structured manner and prioritize effectively, as well as communicate clearly, have good judgment, and demonstrate high personal integrity.

The position is civilian and is located at the Headquarters in Stockholm.
Start date: By agreement
Employment form: Permanent full-time employment starting with a 6-month probationary period for applicants who are not currently employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.
