In 1993, the company developed the world's first mechanical locking system for laminate and hardwood floors. Mechanical locking systems enable glue-free installation and have captured a significant share of the global market over the past year. Välinge currently has an extensive patent portfolio regarding various flooring systems and more than 350 licensees, including many of the world's leading international flooring companies. We have also successfully expanded our business into the furniture industry.
Our headquarters is located in Viken, just outside Helsingborg, with offices and support centers in the USA, China, and Vietnam. We are a team of about 150 dedicated employees who together shape our industry with innovative technologies and products that last for generations.
As a Business Developer, you will be part of our team, Business Development - Flooring Technology, reporting to Carl-Filip Sewring. Our mission is to develop and commercialize new technologies based on our own inventions or in collaboration with our customers and partners. What does the role of Business Developer entail?
Together with our development engineers and technicians, you will drive the identification of issues, create new solutions, and take them all the way to launch and commercialization with our customers around the world.
Your task will be to create new business opportunities for existing and new solutions in flooring technology, ensure that the right internal and external people are involved, and ensure that projects are completed successfully.
You will also work closely with the sales and marketing departments, as well as the development departments, as you help identify what customers are asking for, and to prepare and finalize sales and marketing materials for the future.
Your main responsibilities:
Participate in or lead projects in one or more areas internally, as well as participate in or lead external implementation projects with customers.
Map the competition within selected technologies/areas, identify potential and opportunities as well as challenges with existing and future solutions.
Develop the commercial framework for the business regarding pricing, sales materials, and other supporting materials for the sales organization.
Create an overview of the patent situation together with the organization to define the strategy forward within selected technologies/areas related to our solutions and assist with documentation for patenting.
Establish, nurture, and develop collaborations with relevant external actors and partners in the industry to strengthen our ambassadors in the market and gather information about market trends and needs.
Your points of contact are extensive, and you will work in a team with experienced colleagues based at our headquarters in Viken, just outside Helsingborg. The position involves travel for customer/supplier visits and trade shows. The length of travel can vary from a few days to up to a week.
Who are you?
We believe you are a technology-interested and driven person, and with your knowledge and/or experience in leading projects, you will work both conceptually and practically, both internally and externally.
You are self-driven, take initiative, and have a strong interest in testing and realizing new ideas, driving them all the way to launch and commercialization.
You are structured and driven, as well as unpretentious and professional in dialogue with customers, business partners, and colleagues.
To succeed in this role, we hope you have:
A college or university degree – preferably with a technical focus such as mechanical engineering, industrial economics, or another relevant education.
At least a few years of work experience as a category manager, product owner, project manager, consultant, or similar.
The ability to build trust in your professional relationships and your interest in both the commercial and technical solutions.
Excellent skills in Swedish and English.
