Chief Engineers Wanted at FMV

We are currently seeking two chief engineers with experience and a strong commitment to ensuring quality and developing the technical design of today's and tomorrow's military aviation systems in Sweden.

About the Positions

Common to both positions is that as a chief engineer, you will work on the technical development of new and existing aviation material systems, as well as the analysis and interpretation of the Armed Forces' requirements and regulations. This makes you an important part of the method and process development for FMV's technical work in the aviation field. Furthermore, you will contribute to technical synchronization and interoperability at higher system levels within the air and space domains. Another task is to support, advise, and educate parts of the organization that carry out the actual production. You will review and provide consultation on technical documents to verify that the established requirements are met and act as an advisor to the Technical Manager for Aviation & Space regarding your area of responsibility. Other investigation and analysis work and tasks may also arise to support and relieve the organization.

In one of the positions, you will also participate in various types of investigations regarding operational deviations and incidents within the military aviation field. In this role, you will act as a substitute for the Technical Manager for Aviation & Space in individual matters/decisions and make decisions on their behalf.

In the other position, you will focus on directing and managing the product and material data area for the entire aviation and space domain, as well as coordinating various types of technical questions that are common to several of the Armed Forces' aviation and space systems.

The overall purpose of both positions is to be part of the management of systems engineering to ensure that the aviation and space material systems, as well as service products developed, procured, and delivered to the Armed Forces meet all established requirements to function in the Armed Forces' operational environment throughout their lifecycle.

The positions are based in Stockholm. Travel is included in the role, both domestically and internationally.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a civil or university engineer, or has equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You also have education in Systems Engineering according to the standard SS-ISO/IEC 15288 – System Life Cycle Processes, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.

You have experience in a technically leading position focused on systems engineering and in developing and implementing methods and working practices within that area. The position requires a good ability to communicate both orally and in writing in Swedish and English.

You have knowledge of Systems Engineering and familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM). It is advantageous if you have worked with aviation-related products within FMV, the Armed Forces, or equivalent civilian operations, as well as experience in requirements management and systems safety in technical development projects.

If you have previously worked with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM), we see this as an advantage. It is also positive if you have experience in configuration management, verification and validation, or work in Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems. Experience in developing and conducting technical training, as well as familiarity with civilian and military regulations for aviation (e.g., EASA, EMAR, RML, and regulations under FAA) is also meritorious.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and seek someone with good judgment and the ability to see the big picture in complex situations. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive the work forward. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to constructive cooperation with others. You also have an analytical and problem-solving ability that enables you to identify connections, draw conclusions, and propose well-founded solutions.
