About our open position
We welcome you as a driven and proactive occupational therapist who wants to join and help develop our experienced and competent team.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will work with cognitive treatment, assessment, and rehabilitation. You are interested in improving the patient's daily structure and assessing any need for assistive devices. Treatment can take place individually, in groups, within family networks, and/or in collaboration with care neighbors in the patient's network. In your work, you will conduct activity and function assessments as well as continuous evaluations of patients' health status and identify if they need additional interventions. You will do this together with other team members. You will also regularly collaborate with municipalities and care neighbors to ensure your patients receive the support they need. The position is based in the FACT team, but you will also assist other teams with targeted interventions.
You will be offered a varied and independent job with a high degree of participation and responsibility, as well as good opportunities for development and specialization in the field. There are great opportunities to influence, and you will receive continuous training, supervision, and operational information that is important for maintaining quality and development in the clinics. There is also the possibility of remote work one day a week.
About the Psychiatry Quarter
Do you want to work in new, modern, and unique facilities designed for specialized psychiatric care? The Psychiatry Quarter is a newly built and modern care environment with green outdoor areas and fresh, bright premises. Our ambition is to offer Sweden's best psychiatric care, and the Psychiatry Quarter is our largest investment in many years. We are now looking for you who want to join us on our continued journey towards the future of psychiatry.
About us
The addiction care at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital consists of an inpatient department and an outpatient clinic. The clinic consists of several well-functioning teams such as the addiction team, forensic psychiatric discharge team, and the LARO team, with friendly colleagues driven by curiosity and a desire to continuously develop the operations. The team allows us to have close collaboration around the patient. At the clinic, nurses, doctors, medical secretaries, social workers, caregivers, rehabilitation assistants, physiotherapists, peer support, psychologists, and unit managers work together.
We will start up Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) in January 2026 for patients with substance use disorders. Therefore, we are now looking for you, an employee who, together with existing staff at the addiction clinic, will continue to develop the team's work according to FACT. The FACT care and support model is evidence-based but new to the clinic and means that all assessments, investigations, and treatments of specialized psychiatric issues are based on a recovery-oriented, person-centered approach and standardized psychiatric care processes. The FACT team constitutes an internal team, to which an external team with representatives from the municipalities in our catchment area is connected. By having municipalities and psychiatry work together with the patient and their network, there is a greater opportunity to provide the patient with the right support at the right level and at the right time. The work varies between pre-planned visits with patients, either at the clinic or home visits, as well as acute support interventions for patients who need more intensive support.
The focus is on providing professional treatment and care to our patients, but job satisfaction, humor, and a pleasant working environment for employees are also high on the agenda. As an employee at SÄS, you have several benefits such as wellness grants, flexible hours, and opportunities for professional meetings and skills development.
Your profile
We welcome you as a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale and a valid B driver's license are required. We prefer that you have work experience in psychiatric outpatient care. Experience working with the target group, addiction treatment, and competence and experience in psychotic disorders are also merits. Additionally, further education in various occupational therapy assessment instruments is desirable. Further education in work-oriented rehabilitation is also a merit.
We would like you to find psychiatry interesting and have a strong commitment to your work and an ability to understand each participant's unique needs. You have good self-awareness and the ability to work independently. You see and take responsibility within the framework of your tasks, your mission, and your profession. We consider it essential that you are open and have a pleasant participant and employee interaction. Since we work in teams, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and coordinate various tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
