Skaraborg Hospital, Adult Psychiatric Clinic

The Psychiatric Clinic consists of inpatient care, with a 24/7 emergency department, and general psychiatric outpatient services in Falköping, Skövde, Lidköping, and Mariestad.

The inpatient care consists of four wards with a total of 58 places in completely new and modern facilities at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde, as well as an additional 33 care places within forensic psychiatry in Falköping with associated outpatient services. The clinic also has specialized units for first-time psychosis patients (NIP), a digital ADHD clinic, geriatric psychiatry, LARO treatment, age-inclusive eating disorder care, and a brain stimulation unit.

At the clinic, we have a growing educational mission where we train candidates from the University of Gothenburg, all of the hospital's AT and BT doctors, as well as rotating doctors from other specialties. In recent years, we have received consistently high ratings, which continuously attracts new ST doctors. We are constantly working to develop our processes and are purposefully striving to achieve full medical staffing.

Research has become increasingly important at the clinic, and the ambition is to become a university unit clinic (USVE). Several interesting projects are underway, and the clinic-based research stimulates development work at the clinic.

We are now looking for a consultant psychiatrist who wants to join our medical team, which currently consists of about 45 employees. The Psychiatric Clinic at Skaraborg Hospital is constantly growing and developing, and therefore we need you as a new employee who wants to help advance our care.

We are responsive to your preferences regarding workplace and unit. On-call work is typically included in the role of a consultant psychiatrist.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry. Previous experience as a consultant psychiatrist is advantageous. As a person, you have excellent collaborative skills. You can also plan, organize, prioritize, and drive your own work as well as lead others effectively. You have good judgment and can communicate clearly.

Other

When hiring within psychiatry, we require a background check from the criminal record and misconduct register. This request is handled by the employer.
