Specialist Nurse at the Swedish Armed Forces Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS)

The Swedish Armed Forces Combat School for Defense Medicine (FSS) at FömedC in Gothenburg is a joint resource of the Armed Forces that conducts training, exercises, and drills in defense medicine under the surface, on the surface, on land, and in the air. We are now looking for a specialist nurse who wants to work with education.

FSS consists of three departments: the Education Department, the Exercise Department, and the Simulation and Method Department. The Education Department conducts courses, training, and quality assurance of the defense medical training conducted at other units in Sweden. The Exercise Department plans, conducts, and evaluates training and exercises in defense medicine. The Simulation and Method Department conducts and develops defense medical simulation and pedagogical methods.

Your main tasks as an educator in health and medical care include planning, conducting, and evaluating the exercises and training we carry out at FSS. You will also work to spread competence within your profession as a specialist nurse.

The work also involves providing professional expertise and acting as an instructor in our courses and training. You will also support course leaders before and during exercises and training. At times, you may also work in the role of course leader in our defense medical courses.

The Armed Forces is growing, and the tasks may develop.

Qualifications

• Licensed specialist nurse.
• At least two years of experience working in your specialty.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Driving license B.

Meritorious

• Experience in defense medicine.
• Experience in teaching.
• Completed military service or equivalent basic soldier training.
• Previous experience of service in the Armed Forces and/or overseas service.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Armed Forces' healthcare system, medical tactics, and medical leadership.
• Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written English.

Employment type: Permanent employment, civilian position full-time. A 6-month probationary period applies.

Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg. Travel and evening/weekend work may occur in the position.
