Your future team

My name is Mikael and I will be your closest manager. Together with you, we are a team of eight competent colleagues in IT Operations and Security who contribute to protecting critical infrastructure and drive development in IT and cybersecurity. With us at Kraftringen, you will become a key player in protecting the energy systems that make an entire society function – district heating for homes and properties to a stable electricity grid and secure digital flows.

Your role with us

The newly established role of IT Security Technician means that we are strengthening our IT security area with a focus on operational work to secure our IT environment.

You thus have an important role in protecting our operations and critical infrastructure against internal and external cyber threats. You will work with both traditional IT and our OT environment (Operational Technology) and ensure that our systems are robust, available, and secure. You will be an important link to our departments that work with OT systems. Together with your closest colleagues, you will work to contribute to secure solutions that comply with relevant standards and regulations.

You will ensure that operational maintenance within IT security is met, both through your own efforts and as a purchaser. Your task is to prioritize efforts for a secure and stable IT environment and provide our organization with good documentation.

Your role includes, among other things:

• operationally working with a focus on security and technical protection
• proactively analyzing risks, implementing protective measures
• deeply monitoring networks, servers, and systems with a clear security focus
• handling incidents in our incident process
• initiating and driving activities for improvement measures
• monitoring the environment and evaluating new and existing IT security solutions
• contributing to risk analyses, developing routines and governing documents

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who responsibly and proactively enjoys independently taking the initiative in driving progress within your area of responsibility. You have the ability to work in a structured manner and enjoy working in a team where you easily collaborate with others. You are analytical, enjoy problem-solving, and have the drive to achieve results.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Relevant academic education or vocational training in IT or equivalent work experience
• At least 3 years of experience in IT operations and specifically in IT security
• Broad general IT technical knowledge and problem-solving ability
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft IT operations environment
• Knowledge of basic networking technology
• Driving license B

It is meritorious if you have:

• Good understanding of log management, intrusion detection, and traffic monitoring
• Knowledge in MS cloud (Azure, Entra ID, Intunes)
• Knowledge in Linux
• Knowledge of IT working methods and processes
• Knowledge of OT environments
• Experience with guidelines such as CIS Control, ISO27002, IEC62443
