Our program leader has moved on to new challenges within our organization, and we are now looking for a driven and engaged leader who wants to be at the forefront of future healthcare and technology. You will continue to develop and drive the Digital Infrastructure, Information, and AI program, which is a central engine in Region Skåne's digital transformation.

The Digitalization IT and MT department is the hub for innovation and technical development within Skåne's healthcare system. Our mission is to create a modern, cohesive, and intelligent digital healthcare environment that enables the next generation of care. We combine stable operations and consolidation of today's IT environment with the introduction of future-proof solutions. Here, we work with everything from advanced data management and AI applications to medical technology innovation and automation. We are responsible for the fundamental healthcare information systems and lead the development towards a data-driven, patient-centered, and sustainable care. The department consists of approximately 550 employees and is present at all hospital areas in Skåne, with its headquarters in Lund.

Region Skåne is currently undergoing a comprehensive transformation - The Healthcare System of the Future. Digitalization is crucial for this transformation. As part of this, we have established the Business Area of Digital Transformation, where we work strategically and goal-oriented to create new digital solutions in close collaboration with businesses and partners. Within the business area, there is the Project Office where you will become a key player. Here, we drive around 60 initiatives that span AI, data integration, cybersecurity, and advanced analytics.

The Digital Infrastructure, Information, and AI (DIIA) program is central to the region's investment in data-driven care. We are building the future ecosystem for health data, from data lakes and advanced BI solutions to AI models that support clinical decisions and research. We are developing new platforms for identity management and integration, creating a regional archive, and ensuring that our data is quality assured, accessible, and protected. Through cross-functional teams with software developers, data engineers, analysts, and business specialists, we create solutions that change how healthcare operates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a program leader, you will be a strategic driving force in Region Skåne's digital transformation. You will be responsible for IT and MT project deliveries within the DIIA program area, where twelve active projects are ongoing and new initiatives are constantly emerging. Your tasks include, among others:

  • Coordinating and leading project deliveries within your program area.
  • Strategic planning and development of program plans that support future care.
  • Risk management and coordination between Digitalization IT and MT and business representatives.
  • Ensuring that design and architecture meet requirements for security, scalability, and innovation.
  • Evaluating and following up on project outcomes, documenting lessons learned, and contributing to continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are an engineer or systems scientist, or have equivalent education in a relevant field or other competencies that we as an employer assess as equivalent. You have documented work experience from large complex organizations within IT programs and/or project management as you have driven programs and/or projects from a waterfall method or with agile methods. You also have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have extensive experience with technical IT solutions and knowledge of ITIL v4. Experience with procurement projects and having planned and conducted workshops is also meritorious. It is an advantage if you have worked in assignments or have experience from multi-sourced IT environments and have previously led complex projects. We prefer that you are certified in project management, such as PMP/PMI, and have experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or other agile frameworks. Knowledge of the PPS project model is also meritorious.

To succeed in the role, you need to be driven, goal-oriented, and work in a structured manner. You have good leadership qualities and are used to operating at strategic, tactical, and operational levels and are skilled at leading your program members towards common goals. Additionally, you have the ability to act independently based on the mandates that the program encompasses. You find solutions and have the ability to create structures and processes. Furthermore, you are relationship-building and a good communicator who is skilled at adapting your communication and message to different stakeholders and roles. You coordinate and prioritize requirements from various stakeholders. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
