Assignment Description

On behalf of our client, we are now looking for an Embedded Linux OS Consultant for a technically advanced assignment within industrial IoT and connected sensor systems. The assignment is suitable for you who want to take significant technical responsibility and work closely with hardware, operating systems, and communication in robust environments with high demands on availability and security.

You will be a key person in the development of a new IoT gateway platform that is installed at the end customer and is expected to function reliably over a long period in demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure Yocto-based Embedded Linux

• Implement and integrate solutions for remote updates

• Design and develop functionality for remote management

• Develop gateway and proxy functions for sensor communication

• Carry out system bring-up on new hardware

• Collaborate on communication protocols and integration

• Support migration and integration of Python-based applications

Qualifications

• Deep experience with Embedded Linux and Yocto Project

• Experience with remote updates and device management

• Documented experience with IoT gateways or industrial systems

• Ability to work independently in a consulting role

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in industrial customer environments

• Knowledge of Python in embedded contexts

• Experience with sensor communication and serial interfaces

• Focus on robustness, security, and long-term system operation

Assignment Information

• Start: Spring 2026

• Scope: 100 %

• Assignment Length: Project-based, with possibility of extension

• Location: Malmö

• Presence: On-site approximately 3 days per week
