Logistics Supply is part of Region Västerbotten's service organization, whose main task is to offer and develop value-creating service functions and logistics flows with a focus on continuous improvements for increased customer benefit. The Logistics department is responsible for Region Västerbotten's procurement and distribution of goods, services, and equipment worth several billion per year. Our suppliers are mainly located in the Nordic countries, and we also have a close collaboration with municipalities in Västerbotten. Logistics is a regional operation, with about 60 employees distributed across the three locations of Umeå, Lycksele, and Skellefteå. Your placement will be in Umeå, where you will report directly to the Head of Logistics.

We are undergoing a comprehensive transformation process aimed at taking overall responsibility for the management of Region Västerbotten's contracts and material flows. One aspect of this is to develop our mission regarding material management/ordering and enhance our supply capabilities of goods and services to healthcare, where you will play a key role. We have recently established a regional central warehouse and system support for material management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Logistics Material Controller with us, you provide essential service and enable efforts that impact many. You are responsible for ensuring the supply of materials and services to the Region's operations, a fundamental prerequisite for functioning healthcare.

In your role, you will focus on improvement work, develop our existing flows, and free our healthcare operations from tasks related to material and service supply. You will be involved in the entire logistics process from needs assessment to delivery, development of suppliers and contracts, and improvement of our processes within the logistics area in close collaboration with healthcare operations, purchasing, procurement, and our internal logistics sections.

Logistics Material Controllers within Region Västerbotten have a broad and important area of responsibility aimed at freeing up time for healthcare. We have tasks related to ordering and procurement of materials and services, delivery monitoring and follow-up of supplier performance, supplier development, redistribution of materials, creating material plans based on forecasted needs, optimizing service, inventory levels, and storage structures, as well as system maintenance and parameter setting.

As we are in a transformation phase, which includes warehouse-controlled supply, civil preparedness, and a new purchasing and logistics system, the work will partly consist of mapping existing flows, warehouses, and storage structures, as well as developing plans and activities aimed at streamlining our supply based on our logistics strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education focused on logistics or equivalent work experience. We want you to have several years of work experience in logistics, such as inventory management and procurement of materials and services.

To thrive in the role, you need to be structured, have good analytical skills, a clear customer focus, and the ability to meet and communicate with different types of people. You have good collaboration skills while enjoying taking personal responsibility, working independently, and taking initiative. As a person, you are service-oriented, solution-focused, and organized.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form, you are computer literate, proficient in the Office suite, and hold a B driver's license.

The role and responsibilities of the logistics material controller are under development, and therefore a good ability to take on new tasks and drive improvement work is required.
