Midwifery Services in Southern Kalmar County offers a permanent position as a midwife located in Kalmar. Depending on the needs of the service, it may also be relevant to work in other locations and clinics in Southern Kalmar County.

Your role as a midwife is to contribute to good sexual and reproductive health through promotional and preventive measures and by identifying health risks, while minimizing risks and morbidity for women and children during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early postpartum period. The services provided by the Midwifery include pregnancy monitoring, contraceptive counseling, gynecological cytology screening, and youth services.

In the position of midwife with us, you will work independently in continuous professional development and through personal meetings with many different types of people. You will follow expectant parents over a longer period and support them through pregnancy and parenthood. With us, you will be part of the ongoing development work that is part of our daily operations. We have ongoing training and work in process groups that you will be part of to develop and improve our work. Your working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.

About You

We are looking for a licensed midwife who wishes to work within midwifery services. It is an advantage if you have prescribing rights, if you have previously worked in midwifery, and have experience with the medical records systems Cosmic and Obstetrix. It is desirable if you have a driver's license as you will travel between family centers.

As a midwife, you are confident in your profession and accustomed to making and standing by your own decisions. You discuss and solve issues together with your colleagues. You need to be independent in your work while being able to collaborate with various professional categories at the family center, such as doctors, nurses, social workers, nursing assistants, and educators. A pleasant and empathetic demeanor is seen as one of your important qualities. You are flexible in your approach and view change and development work as natural. Our work is characterized by good collaboration within midwifery services together with others at the Women's Clinic within both the gynecology and obstetrics sections. We are a suitably sized clinic that creates conditions for a family-like atmosphere. Midwifery is part of the Women's Clinic, and we work with preventive health efforts for health throughout life. The Southern Midwifery Services have their clinics at the 12 family centers located in eight municipalities in Southern Kalmar County. This facilitates collaboration for our patients within the relevant services at the family centers, child health care, open preschool, and preventive social services. Midwifery is one of the leading actors in sexual and reproductive health as well as public health. The goal of the Midwifery Services is to offer equitable care of high standards.

The County Hospital in Kalmar is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and postpartum care.
