Your Role
As a component engineer in the Submarine Electrical Systems section, you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle regarding cables and penetrations. This can be briefly summarized as:
- Study - manage a large set of requirements through requirements analysis
- Define - develop sizing and calculations as well as technical specifications and interfaces
- Verify - testing at suppliers, report writing, document control, onboard inspections
You collaborate closely with other engineers, which requires communication and compromises with other departments. The work is complex, interdisciplinary, highly varied, and requires both a holistic view and attention to detail.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with the necessary technical education at the university level, preferably with a focus on electrical engineering.
- At least a few years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of standards and norms in cable manufacturing
- Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English
- Experience participating in large development projects
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Experience in cable development is a merit
Travel within and outside Sweden may occur.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.

The section is responsible for electrical systems onboard our submarines, such as propulsion systems, generators, battery systems, power distribution, lighting, and motors with drive systems. We are also responsible for cables and cable penetrations used onboard.
