The Orthopedic Clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care (CKOC) within Region Östergötland. The clinic consists of a care department with a teaching department, outpatient clinic, and rehabilitation unit where both acute and planned orthopedic patients are treated. In addition to basic orthopedics, the clinic's specialties include pediatric orthopedics, upper and lower extremity surgery, spinal surgery, and tumor surgery with a mission to handle patients from the entire Southeast healthcare region. We are a large clinic with many engaged and skilled employees working together.
With us, a good introduction tailored to the individual is very important; you will shadow your mentor(s) for 6 weeks. All newly graduated nurses participate in an in-depth introduction program during the first year, a clinical base year, and everyone is assigned a mentor.
To take care of our patients in the best way, we offer ongoing internal skills development and development work, as well as the opportunity to study to become a specialist nurse during paid working hours.

Job Description
As a nurse with us, you will have a fun, stimulating, and developing job in orthopedics where we diagnose, treat, and care for patients with acute and chronic problems in the musculoskeletal system. Your tasks will largely consist of pre- and post-operative care, pain management, and mobilization. You will work in a development-focused and eventful environment and become part of a team where collaboration and engagement are highly valued. The most common condition we treat is acute fractures, with the most common fractures being hip, ankle, wrist, and shoulder fractures. The most common spinal diagnoses we treat are herniated discs, spinal stenosis, vertebral fractures, and scoliosis.
Work Group
We work in teams staffed by one nurse and two nursing assistants. This gives you as a nurse good conditions to focus on medical care. In the department, we have a department responsible physician with extensive medical experience and experienced specialist nurses who are available as support and sounding boards for more complex patient cases. The clinic has a large rehabilitation unit with occupational therapists and physiotherapists who work daily in the department. You will also collaborate with social workers and dietitians. Around you are also important functions such as pharmacists, coordinators, and service hosts. Together we create the team that is so important for us to provide the best care for our patients.
About You
You who are applying are a licensed nurse. If you have work experience in healthcare, it is an advantage.
As you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills and contributes to a good work environment with a positive attitude. You enjoy a varied pace, are calm in your manner, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have good collaboration skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Teamwork in the department requires attentiveness and clear communication.
