Lövsta Agricultural Research

We are looking for a veterinarian for employment as a research and teaching coordinator at SLU's research infrastructures for agricultural animals. To strengthen our work, we seek someone who wants to contribute to enabling research and education of the highest quality by coordinating and administering trials in close collaboration with researchers and stable staff, as well as participating in certain teaching moments.

About the Job

As a research coordinator, you will be a key person in the planning and implementation of trials within the research infrastructure in Uppsala and Umeå. Your responsibilities include:

• Acting as a link between researchers, technical staff, students, and external partners.
• Coordinating and administering research projects involving dairy cows, poultry, and pigs.
• Participating in certain teaching moments primarily for veterinary students.
• Planning trial setups together with researchers and ensuring practical implementation with stable staff.
• Being responsible for documentation, trial plans, timelines, and ongoing follow-up of trial activities.
• Ensuring that trials comply with relevant animal welfare and occupational safety regulations.
• Participating in the development of routines and working methods within the research infrastructure.

Your Background

Requirements:

• Veterinary degree
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both researchers, students, and stable staff.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Driver's license (B) is required.

Meritorious:

• Experience in research administration or project management.
• Experience in teaching or supervision.
• Experience in practical work or research with agricultural animals.
• PhD in veterinary medicine.

Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities such as teamwork, independence, as well as initiative and organizational skills.

About Us

SLU conducts research and education for sustainable agriculture and good animal welfare. Our research infrastructures for agricultural animals include modern experimental environments with dairy cows, poultry, and pigs, and are used by researchers nationally and internationally. Research is conducted here on everything from feeding and animal health to behavior, environment, and production.

We have about 40 employees in Uppsala and Umeå, and the operation conducts around 20 research projects annually and receives a couple of thousand SLU students as well as several study visits.
