We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. There is always something happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
The specialized palliative care at Akademiska sjukhuset is conducted at the Palliative Center, which consists of the Specialized Palliative Care Ward (SPVA), the Department of Specialized Home Care (ASH), the Palliative Consultation Team (PKT), and the Palliative Clinic. At the units of the Palliative Center, patients with various diagnoses and ages are cared for, including sometimes children in need of specialized palliative care in their own homes or in special accommodations.
The Palliative Center is currently at the start of an exciting development journey, with the ambition to strengthen both the operations and palliative care in general. We are now looking for driven employees who want to be part of the joint effort to strengthen, develop, and broaden palliative care within our region.
Your Mission
Initially, you will start your employment at either ASH or SPVA. The plan is for you to then begin your rotation to the other unit. You will work in a multidisciplinary team with severely ill patients in the inpatient ward (SPVA) and at home (ASH). You will primarily be responsible for specific nursing care and specialized interventions, such as advanced symptom relief with e.g. infusions, injections, medication pumps, spinal pain relief, various drains, and support for relatives.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse, preferably with at least one year of experience. It is advantageous if you have further education in palliative care or experience in palliative care, but it is not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
Your Competence
You are structured and communicative. Furthermore, we see that you are stress-resistant and enjoy working in a team. We see that you have good collaboration skills, are independent, flexible, and work with a focus on quality.
We Offer
Permanent employment of between 75–100%. Day/evening/night/weekend shifts. Individual onboarding and mentorship based on your wishes. Group supervision every month. A 6-month probationary period may apply.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
