Mechanic at Outokumpu – at the Steelworks in Avesta

Keep production running – be part of a strong team

We are looking for several mechanics for our Steelworks in Avesta. Here you will work closely with production and ensure that our equipment operates safely and efficiently every day. With us, you will have a varied job where you both prevent problems and step in when something happens. You will primarily work during the day, but shift work and on-call duty may occur in some cases.

Your role with us

• Troubleshoot, repair, and renovate machines and equipment
• Perform planned and emergency maintenance
• Document work in our maintenance system
• Propose and drive improvements for better operational reliability
• Participate in failure investigations and analyses when needed
• Collaborate with production, engineers, and colleagues in maintenance

Here you will have significant responsibility and a daily routine where your work makes a direct difference in production.

Who we believe you are

You have a technical high school education and experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within heavy industry. You are familiar with computers and reading technical drawings and have a high safety awareness. As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and enjoy solving problems and improving work methods.

If you also have experience in areas such as hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or other industry-related maintenance, that is a strength and something you will find very useful with us.
