Technical Service Officer at the Swedish Armed Forces

The Swedish Armed Forces is in an expansion phase and on a comprehensive growth journey. Here you have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and close-knit team where you can develop while contributing to the organization's development journey.

The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS) based in Halmstad is responsible for technical training within the Armed Forces. The Training Unit (UtbE), which is one of the units at FMTS, is responsible for both basic and system-specific training regarding the Armed Forces' equipment.

Connected to the management of the training unit is a staff department. The department, which is organized as a function-oriented staff, is now seeking a competent and committed technical service officer for our logistics function (S4).

Main Responsibilities

The position involves systematic, administrative, and practical work. You will have a leading role in the development, administration, and follow-up of implementation regarding the technical service at UtbE.

You will collaborate with other actors both within the Armed Forces Technical School and Halmstad garrison, as well as with other stakeholders within the Armed Forces and civil society, such as material offices and defense industry.

Job Responsibilities

General Tasks:

Being a staff member means:

  • Supporting the head of the training unit with well-prepared documentation
  • Continuously handling staff matters within the assigned function
  • Coordinating activities between UtbE management, staff, and departments
  • Working together with the rest of the staff to solve common tasks
  • Leading or participating in projects and development work

Tasks as Technical Service Officer

Coordinate and develop the unit's capabilities within technical service.

This includes, among other things:

  • Monitoring the technical status and availability of the training unit's equipment
  • Proposing local routines, instructions, and directives within technical service
  • Ensuring that established routines and instructions within technical service are known and applied
  • Following up to ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance as well as modifications are carried out according to applicable regulations
  • Developing and following up on long- and short-term plans for the maintenance of the equipment
  • Collaborating with the technical responsible at UtbE departments regarding follow-up of maintenance and registration in our maintenance systems
  • Conducting register maintenance in Lift and PRIO
  • Collaborating with the ordering function, workshops, and other operations at the garrison regarding technical service

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Approved high school diploma
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Good computer skills and strong administrative abilities.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
  • Driver's license, at least category B manual transmission
  • Good knowledge of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance)
  • Good knowledge of Lift

Flexibility beyond your own area of responsibility is a necessity. This is to support other functions in the workplace, but also to solve various forms of common tasks. You express yourself well in speech and writing and can work both independently and in a team.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience in technical service, workshop, or equivalent function
  • Education in logistics or equivalent professional experience
  • Training in technical service within the Armed Forces
  • Experience in planning and staff work

Placement as Civil.

This is a permanent position, with a 6-month probationary period. The position is located at FMTS, UtbE in Halmstad.
