Project Manager for Air Defense Unit

About the Position

As an employee in the Air Defense Unit, you will be part of the Armament Material area, whose main task is to provide equipment to the Swedish Armed Forces' land combat capability.

The Air Defense Unit is responsible for several technically complex procurement and maintenance projects that require experienced project managers. You will be part of a knowledge-heavy team and work as a project manager to procure or maintain air defense systems. The systems consist of fire units, sensors, simulators, and maintenance equipment.

As a project manager, you will have a role with many points of contact. You will lead the daily work of the project with meetings, managing project members, collaborating with suppliers, and coordinating with the Armed Forces, among others.

The role of project manager includes:

• Responsibility for planning, leading, executing, and following up on projects related to the procurement or maintenance of air defense systems regarding goals, time, budget, and resources.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as security protection requirements.
• Leading and participating in various project meetings at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) both internally and externally.
• Conducting procurements and orders.
• Managing projects in FMV support systems and ensuring that projects are updated regarding timelines, budgets, and risks.
• Participating in and/or leading meetings with suppliers and the Armed Forces.
• Contributing to the development of the unit.

Domestic and international travel is included in the role and will likely occur continuously.

The workplace for the position is Halmstad.

About You

You are a civil or university engineer or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way. You have several years of experience working on projects with a technical focus, as well as at least a couple of years of experience in project management with a technical focus. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of air defense systems and experience with the Armed Forces and FMV material process. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of procurement procedures and regulations for public procurement. You have good computer skills within MS Office, and it is beneficial if you have experience managing FMV support systems UBW, Platina, and SharePoint.
