The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines together form Engines, and at the facility in Trollhättan, advanced parts for engines for aircraft and space rockets are developed and manufactured. They also work with engine maintenance.

About the department

At GKN Aerospace, the Engineering function is the heart of our operations. Here, we collaborate to develop new products and further develop existing ones – always in close cooperation with research, production, and our customers.

We are a large community of engineers in structural analysis, and together we represent a world-leading competence in mechanical design for aircraft engines. With us, you will work on products that fly around the world – and be part of the future's sustainable aviation technology.

Your responsibilities

As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will be a key person in one or more cross-functional product teams, where you represent the structural analysis competence. The role may involve both product development and production support.

You will:

  • Perform advanced structural analyses and simulations (e.g., fatigue, strength, stability) for engine components under varying loads.
  • Be responsible for analyses required to assess components that deviate from their original design.
  • Lead or contribute to method development initiatives to standardize, automate, and improve our working methods.
  • Ensure that analyses are delivered with high quality, on time, and at the right cost.
  • Document and present technical results internally and externally.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement within the department.

Your profile

You who are applying are educated as a Master of Science in Applied Mechanics or equivalent. You have at least a couple of years of experience in the field and enjoy solving complex technical problems and have the ability to switch between details and a holistic perspective.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

  • Solid experience with ANSYS Mechanical and understand complex structural and script-related challenges.
  • Strong competence in structural analysis and materials technology, with experience in digital data management of simulations.
  • A structured and analytical work style, where you create clear and realistic plans that are easy to follow and adjust.
  • If you also have programming experience, this is a merit.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.

Application procedure

In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace collaborates with Skill. The position is a consulting assignment where you will initially be employed by Skill with opportunities for transition to GKN.

Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Therefore, apply today!
