GIS Engineer at Göteborg Energi

Do you want to work with geographic information in a rapidly growing city? Are you curious about how smart maps and digital infrastructure can shape the future of society? We are now looking for an engaged and curious GIS Engineer for the Measurement and Utility Documentation unit – a role where you will help build the backbone of the city.

Your Task

As a GIS Engineer with us, you will play a central role in keeping our digital map of the city's vital networks alive and up to date. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for maintaining utility documentation for district heating and cooling networks, water and sewage, optics, alarms, electricity, gas, and signal cables – systems that make the city function every day.

You will also be an important part of the development of our GIS solutions and working methods. With your expertise and commitment, you will help take our tools and processes to the next level.

Your Team

You will be part of a team that is passionate about creating a robust and sustainable infrastructure for the future. Here, we work with the entire chain of new and reinvestment projects for the city's distribution facilities, from assignment to implementation and follow-up.

With us in our unit, you will collaborate with colleagues who are experts in everything from surveying to setting out, handling referrals, and documentation. We are the hub that connects all utility-bound infrastructure – and you will be an important piece of the puzzle in the whole.

Your Competence

To thrive in this role, we see that you are meticulous, engaged, and enjoy taking responsibility. You work just as well independently as in collaboration with others and enjoy having many points of contact – both internally and externally. Since we are a smaller group working closely together, we value humility, helpfulness, and good collaboration.

You have a university degree in geography or as a GIS engineer, or other relevant education/experience that we consider equivalent. Having at least one year of experience in the field is a plus. Previous experience with utility documentation and programs such as QGIS, FME, Digpro products, or AutoCAD is advantageous – but most importantly, you have the desire to develop together with us.

Göteborg Energi is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and many of our services are security classified. If this position is security classified, a security review will be conducted before employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
