About Us

The Orthopedic Technology department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is Scandinavia's largest unit in the field, tasked with supplying patients in the Gothenburg region with orthopedic aids.

The unit has about 55 employees. Our main unit is located at Falkenbergsgatan 3 where production also takes place, and we staff hospitals in Greater Gothenburg daily. We work in a multidisciplinary manner and are part of several team operations.

In addition to clinical activities, the unit also has a mission to contribute to research and development in the field. For example, a major investment is underway in scanning and the implementation of 3D printing within the operation.

Orthopedic technology is also part of the national highly specialized care assignment (NHV) for dysmelia, where we play a central role in ensuring that patients across the country receive the best possible orthopedic care.

About the Position

As an orthopedic technician with us, you will work with the production and repair of orthopedic aids both in the workshop and saddlery. Additionally, you will meet patients together with a licensed orthopedic engineer during delivery visits, which requires you to have a good demeanor, understanding, and interest in people. You easily listen and communicate with both patients and relatives and always work from a patient-centered approach.

The position is a 6-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension.

About You

You have orthopedic technical education from the Health University in Jönköping or equivalent education/experience that the employer considers equivalent.

You will work in a production team and have a good demeanor, understanding, and interest in people. You easily listen and communicate with both patients and relatives and always work from a patient-centered approach.

As you work in a team and have contacts with various partners and patients, you need to have good collaboration skills as well as good knowledge of Swedish.

You are secure and stable in yourself and can adapt to situations and prioritize. To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible, accustomed to taking initiatives, and able to organize and plan your work independently.

As a person, you are service-oriented, proactive, flexible, and responsible. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and social skills.
