About the Job

This position includes two main responsibilities.

The primary task is to teach veterinarians in bacteriology within the course Infectious Biology. The teaching mainly consists of lectures in the classroom. The second main task is to conduct molecular biological research and vaccine development in bacteriology, focusing on Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus suis, Streptococcus equi, and Streptococcus zooepidemicus. The main purpose is to develop new recombinant vaccines in close collaboration with a Swedish veterinary medicine company.

Your Background

You should have a PhD and qualifications as an associate professor in bacteriology, as well as a genuine interest in the subject and teaching. Applicants should have extensive experience in teaching, research, and development work within the aforementioned research areas. Previous experience in identifying and characterizing extracellular proteins in pathogenic streptococci/staphylococci is particularly meritorious.

Employment Type:

Hourly paid employment; fixed-term employment. This means you will be offered work for shorter periods during the time specified below under the heading "scope". You can accept or decline each opportunity you are offered. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment contract will be made for those occasions.

Scope:

The employment comprises approximately 100 hours during the period from January 1 to June 30, 2026. The work will involve 10-25 hours of work per month.
