Today, over 100 people work at the Environmental Administration, and we are located in the new city hall near the central station. The Environmental Administration is a municipal authority that supports the Environmental and Health Protection Committee and works to create good and healthy living environments for all residents of the municipality.
You will be part of the Environmental Protection Department within the Environmental Administration, where 18 inspectors currently supervise environmentally hazardous activities. There are good opportunities to learn new things and contribute your own experiences and knowledge to the group. Description of Duties
You will work with supervision of environmentally hazardous activities in various industries. Your duties include conducting planned inspections and processing incoming cases. As an inspector, you work individually but closely and collaboratively with competent and engaged colleagues. The assignment is varied in character and complexity and offers a mix of fieldwork and office work. The inspector role also involves maintaining good contact with the municipality's residents, business owners, and other authorities.
Qualifications
The three positions will have different focuses. We are looking for individuals who can work with supervision of contaminated areas, waste and waste management, as well as agriculture and vehicle care.
For all positions, you need to have an academic degree with a technical or natural science focus or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position, preferably with a focus on environmental and health protection inspector. The work requires that you have good knowledge of the Environmental Code. You also need good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, as well as basic IT skills. A B driver's license is required as travel is included in the job.
For all positions, it is advantageous if you have education in any of the areas of environmental and health protection, chemistry, ecotoxicology, hydrogeology, and soil science. If you have also worked with PFAS issues, that is a plus. It is also positive if you have experience in and enjoy quality work, supervision planning, and follow-up.
For the position focused on contaminated land and waste, you need to have experience as an inspector.
For the positions focused on agriculture and vehicle care, experience as an inspector is advantageous.
To succeed in the role of inspector, it is important that you are good at collaborating and can structure, plan, and prioritize your work effectively. As a person, you are analytical and good at seeing connections and solving complex questions and problems. We also see that you can take responsibility and drive supervision projects forward to achieve results. As a person, you enjoy meeting people and have the ability to listen to those you meet and their needs. You can adapt your communication to the situation and the recipient, to give all our residents and businesses an opportunity to understand and do the right thing. It is important for you to be able to answer questions in a way that everyone understands, and you are well-versed in the conditions of the business community and the challenges faced by entrepreneurs.
